By using the Perks tab within Samsung Wallet or otherwise participating in the Rakuten-Samsung Perks Program (the “Program”), you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please review these terms and conditions carefully. If you do not agree to these or the other applicable terms and conditions, you should not participate in the Program. Ebates Performance Marketing, Inc. dba Rakuten Rewards (“Rakuten,” “we,” or “us”) may modify, update, add to, discontinue, remove or otherwise change these terms and conditions at any time. Each such modification will take immediate effect upon notification to you. We may provide you with notice, including those regarding changes to these terms and conditions, by website, email, regular mail, text message, in-app messaging, or other reasonable means now known or hereinafter developed.
Your continued participation in the Program following any such notification constitutes your acceptance of such modifications and your agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions. If you do not agree to any modification of these terms and conditions, your sole remedy is to terminate your participation in the Program.
Eligibility
The Program is available exclusively to eligible Samsung Wallet users in the United States with an account enrolled in Samsung Wallet (“Samsung Account”). Samsung Wallet users must also be Rakuten members and link their Samsung Account to their Rakuten account through the Perks tab in Samsung Wallet. If you do not have a Rakuten account, you will be prompted to create one when you attempt to link your accounts through the Perks tab. Reward Accrual and Payout via Samsung Cash
Once your Rakuten account and Samsung Account are linked, your Rakuten payout method will automatically be set to Samsung Cash, a prepaid, open-loop debit account provisioned within Samsung Wallet. Within Samsung Wallet, Samsung Cash is the only available payout method. You have the right to change your payout method at any time through your Rakuten account settings through www.rakuten.com or Rakuten’s mobile app. If you switch away from Samsung Cash, your Rakuten account and Samsung Account will stay linked, but you won't be able to shop and earn rewards through the Perks tab again until you switch your payout method back to Samsung Cash. You may re-select Samsung Cash at any time through either Samsung Wallet or your Rakuten account.
With your Rakuten account linked to your Samsung Account and payment set to Samsung Cash, you may earn Rakuten rewards in your account for any qualifying shopping activities (as determined by Rakuten) subject to returns or other transaction reversals. Such amounts will be reflected in your Rakuten account in accordance with the Rakuten Terms and Conditions. Rakuten will transfer your confirmed cash back to your Samsung Account as Samsung Cash in accordance with Rakuten Terms and Conditions, including applicable payment schedules. You may also request payout of your available cash back in Samsung Cash on demand, subject to Rakuten's standard minimum redemption thresholds. Cash back accrued in your Rakuten account but not paid out prior to linking accounts will be converted into Samsung Cash. Rakuten reserves the right to modify the payment schedule at any time in accordance with the Rakuten Terms and Conditions.
Your Samsung Account must remain open, active, and in good standing, and must have sufficient available capacity to receive Samsung Cash. If your Samsung Cash hasn't been set up, doesn't have enough remaining capacity to receive a payment, or a credit otherwise fails to process for any reason, your rewards are not lost: it will stay in your Rakuten account balance and be paid out until your Samsung Cash has available capacity or at your election, through an alternative payout method available on Rakuten. If you delete your Samsung Account, we'll be notified and will prompt you to choose an alternative payout method.
If Rakuten determines in its sole judgment that you engaged in abuse, misuse, or gaming (e.g., manufacturing spend to earn rewards without bona fide purchases) in connection with promotions or offers, or that you may attempt to do so, it may determine a purchase is ineligible for Samsung Cash, suspend your ability to redeem promotions or offers in the future, or take other action with respect to your Rakuten account.
Promotions and Offers
We may offer promotions or curated offers in connection with the Program. Any promotions or offers will be denoted accordingly within the Perks tab and will be subject to additional terms and conditions. Other restrictions may apply.
Liability
Rakuten does not operate Samsung Wallet and shall have no liability with respect to Samsung Wallet, the management or redemption of Samsung Cash following transfer of cash back to your Samsung Account, or other actions or inactions of Samsung or third parties associated therewith.
Privacy Policy
Samsung and Rakuten may share certain information about you with each other to facilitate your participation in the Program. Any personal information Samsung or Rakuten receives about you will be managed in accordance with their respective privacy policies, including for Samsung at https://www.samsung.com/us/account/privacy-policy/.
Program Changes and Discontinuation
Rakuten may discontinue the Program at any time. If that happens, you will no longer be able to earn rewards through the Perks tab or select Samsung Cash as a payout method, and we'll notify you of your alternative redemption options under the Rakuten Terms and Conditions.
