The Rakuten American Express® Card referral program allows eligible Card Members (“Referrers”) to earn a $50 referral bonus for each friend (“Referee”) who applies through their unique Imprint link, is approved for the card, and accepts the offer. Referrers may earn up to $500 in referral Cash Back per calendar year. Offers may vary and are subject to change. Terms apply.
This program is open only to cardholders of the Rakuten American Express® Card. It is not available to residents of Washington State, and Authorized Users as defined in your credit cardholder agreement are not eligible to participate. Do not send a referral link to a Washington state resident, as the referral bonus is not valid there. To qualify for the referral bonus, the Referrer’s account must be open and in good standing at the time the bonus is fulfilled.
Referral bonuses will be credited to the Referrer’s Rakuten account within 4 weeks after the referred friend is approved and accepts their card offer. The applicable referral bonus amount will be determined based on the active referral offer at the time the referred friend accepts their card offer.
Referees must apply using the unique Imprint link provided. No bonus will be awarded if the Referee does not apply through the referral link, even if they are otherwise eligible. Referrers may not refer themselves or apply using their own referral link. The program is intended solely for sharing with friends, family, and known acquaintances.
Due to the confidential nature of the credit approval process, we cannot disclose information on who has applied, nor will you, as the Referrer, be notified whether Imprint approves or declines any application(s) from the individual(s) you refer.
This offer is subject to change and the Refer-a-Friend program may be cancelled at any time without notice. To be eligible for this bonus offer, your Rakuten American Express Card account must be open and not in default at the time of fulfillment. See Credit Cardholder Agreement for additional details.
Rakuten, Imprint, and First Electronic Bank may revoke referral bonuses and disqualify participants who violate program terms or engage in abuse, fraud, or misuse. This includes referring yourself, misleading others, mass sharing links, or promoting referrals outside personal networks. Misuse may result in loss of referral eligibility, account suspension, or closure.
