How do I set up Face or Fingerprint ID to sign into my account?
To enable Face ID (iOS) or fingerprint unlock/facial recognition (Android), make sure you have version 12.21.0 or higher of the Rakuten App installed on your device. Then, navigate to Settings within the app to enable Face or Fingerprint ID.
Can I have more than one Rakuten account with Face or Fingerprint ID on the same device?
No. Each device can be linked to only one Rakuten account for Face or Fingerprint ID.
If you sign out and sign in with a different Rakuten account on the same device, the face or fingerprint sign in setup for the previous account will be automatically disabled.
What happens to my Face or Fingerprint ID if I change my email or password?
If you update your account credentials (email or password), your Face or Fingerprint ID will be disabled for security reasons.
You’ll need to re-enable Face or Fingerprint ID the next time you sign in to the Rakuten mobile app.
What if my device has multiple Face or Fingerprint ID profiles saved?
If your device supports multiple Face or Fingerprint ID profiles, and they are enabled for your Rakuten account on that device, you can use any saved profile on the device to authenticate.
How many devices can I register for Face or Fingerprint ID?
You can register up to three devices per Rakuten account for Face or Fingerprint ID.
If you set up Face or Fingerprint ID on a fourth device, the system will automatically remove Face or Fingerprint ID access from the least recently used device to make room for the new one.
I lost my mobile device. Will my Face or Fingerprint ID still work?
If you lose your device, we recommend changing your Rakuten account password immediately. This will automatically remove Face or Fingerprint ID settings from that device. You can then enable Face or Fingerprint ID again on your new device.
